Whether you've spent months crafting your cosplay or you're just looking for that perfect shot to showcase your hard work, HAIR OF THE DRAGON: Cosplay Photo mini-Con provides you with the opportunity to work alongside talented photographers in a space designed specifically for cosplay art. No more rushed selfies or random photos in crowded convention halls—here, you’ll get to create high-quality images that truly reflect the vision behind your costume.

But this event isn’t just about the photos—it’s also about people. Over the past 12 years, Hair of the Dragon has become a gathering place where cosplayers can mingle, network, and form lasting friendships. With multiple dressing rooms on-site, you can switch between different cosplays throughout the day, giving you the chance to work with both roaming photographers and “featured” photographers who have set up in various studios around the expansive Studio Space Atlanta—a 20,000+ sq. ft. venue. The event offers a variety of opportunities to connect with fellow cosplayers in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.

Many friendships have blossomed from this event, making it just as much about community as it is about creating stunning photos. It’s one of the special aspects that sets Hair of the Dragon apart and makes it an event cosplayers look forward to year after year.

In addition to the fun and camaraderie, Hair of the Dragon also serves as the perfect “halfway point” to the annual Dragon Con. Aptly dubbed a “Halfway to the Dragon” event, it’s the ideal way to get into the cosplay spirit months before the big con while enjoying a laid-back, vendor-free atmosphere. No panels, no celebrities—just a great time to focus on what really matters: your cosplay and your fellow fans.

Join us for a night filled with creativity, new connections, and unforgettable photos. Whether you’re looking to make lasting memories, upgrade your cosplay portfolio, or just enjoy a fun, safe, and welcoming environment, Hair of the Dragon is the event for you!


Cosplay attendees are allowed (and encouraged) to bring more than one cosplay to get photo’ed in as multiple dressing rooms are on site, as well as numerous studios that allow them to work with numerous ‘Featured’ (set up in one space) and ‘Roaming’ (moving around) Photographers throughout the event. This event also offers fingers foods and music as well as a wonderful, accepting energy that attendees enjoy yearly.

All levels of cosplayers are invited to come experience Atlanta’s most unique “con” as this event was created FOR cosplayers BY cosplayers!

NOTE: Edited images (social media worthy) from event will be available online afterwards (times vary depending on photographer) and are included in price of “All Access” ticket.

HOW DOES ONE GET ACCESS TO THE PHOTOS AFTERWARDS?
Access to the resulting digital photos (included in admission) will be posted on www.CosplayPhotoCon.com afterwards (as photographers finish their edits). Some photographers will submit their final images the next day while some may take several weeks to finish their edits.
